PRESS:

"It's always easy to review a CD project of this quality in that jazz trumpet-eer James Davis knows who & how to hire to bring a viable CD project to fruition. The thing that's striking & compelling about his disc of originals is Davis's handle on melodic & harmonic symmetry. Nothing abstract here. His songs sound like 'standards' albeit they're original. In addition is his palatable approach & well filleted rhythm contained within his music, Davis connotes a certain 'world music with a philosophy,' plus his improvisational directness which is well placed to bring out the hopefully cogent ties to his (I'm sure) well suited audiences. This is a winner." --George W. Carroll, The Musicians' Ombudsman
